skills.
lately i've been thinking about all the things i don't know. for instance, carpentry. how do i go about learning carpentry? i'd like to learn to build things. i'm quite serious about this (for now - i'll probably forget about it in a few weeks.) but really, without the immediate practical application, how does one acquire these skills?

apprenticeships. i know a guy in sunset park. he's ukrainian....
u gonna be in chi-town at all this summer?
i'm there right now.
or you could call nat ward and offer to help him build out his loft and you will learn some things. off the morgan stop. that's how i spent my memorial day, but at this point the actual carpentry is done; all that's really left is the sheetrock hanging and finishing. etc
